I know. Terrible. And he was in great shape. It’s incredibly sad.
Saving the full views for a complete before/after.
Official demo start was Monday. They say 4 weeks. If it’s under 6, I’ll count that as a win.
Figures that on the final big driving weekend (graduation & Mother’s Day) when I could maybe, just maybe make some money before everyone fucks off for the summer — myself included — the car is making mysterious noises and ‘bucked’ briefly, forcing me to call it an early quits for today. #FML ![]()
I hope its not the transmission… Do you know if the car has a CVT or DCT transmission?? Or is this a manual transmission car??
CVTi-S. And boy, I hope it’s not the transmission.
The wonderful Sir David Attenborough is 100 years old today. ![]()
My brain sometimes takes turns I never expect. Today while waiting for a coworker so we can go downstairs to pick up lunch, it centered on music.

I can’t listen to the song “True” by Spandau Ballet without thinking of Steve Buscemi singing it in “The Wedding Singer.”

I always hated it when an 8-track tape switched sides in the middle of a good song. That slow fadeaway, loud CLICK, and slow return always left part of the song missing and ruined it. Yep. I’m that old. (see below) BUT the 8-track player was only in my brother’s Ford van (which was all tricked out with carpeting throughout and round porthole bubble windows at the back of the rear panels). It was the mid-1970s. What do you expect?

I’m the exact age of the 5th age sung about in Five For Fighting’s “100 Years.” (67) :::Sigh:::

Every time I hear a song by an original artist that was used in one of the Pitch Perfect movies, I visualize the PP version, especially “No Diggity”.

Cranking up your favorite tune on a nice Spring/Summer day, opening all the car windows, and singing at the top of your lungs as you head down the highway, is required. Who cares what other people think if they see you? Just enjoy the ride.
I’m that way with Jefferson Airplane’s Somebody To Love: I see and hear Jim Carrey doing it in The Cable Guy ![]()
If I am following this thread correctly , you folks are continuing great lessons learned.
We never had soda growing up either, but I also wanted to uplift the positive steps many people are taking at their community or even state level.
I’m not up for starting a new thread, but for example on Monday I will be attending an Advocacy day at our California state capitol.
Lots of people I would love to hear from there (not that I don’t love hearing from you all too!)
I will be going in the name of our local American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry group, but lots of others will be there.
The only thing I’m even close to like that is remembering Aerosmith’s cover of “Come Together” from that weird 70’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band movie starring the BeeGees and Peter Frampton.
Steven Tyler’s weird giant mouth creeped me out a lot as a kid.
Also as an adult, but for different reasons.
Those CVT transmissions scare me. I went back to a manual after doing some research.
It just died on me in the middle of driving some very nice Indian ladies. I had to pull off, and have them call a new Uber. Currently waiting for AAA and my PIC.
There go any final earnings, with the added bonus of repair costs.
Ready for a tall glass of Fuckitall.
Oh, no. That suuuuuucks.
I am so sorry… Please, please, please don’t let it be the transmission.
Fingers crossed…
Ohhh no.
I hope it’s nothing major.
It sucketh the fetid one. And here I thought 2025 was bad.
2026: “hold my beer.”
Did the tow truck show up??
Yup. Car’s at the dealer & will likely remain there until they can have a look — Wednesday at the earliest, we were told.
I’m back home now and distracting myself with dinner party prep. My “happy” place.
J/k — I don’t have a happy place ![]()
Oh no!
