On the topic of kids growing up, as a high school teacher I think about this scene between Indiana Jones and his dad a lot, particularly the idea that when the kids graduate and leave, it’s usually when they are just “getting interesting”:
Well, women as such aren’t a monolithic entity, so assuming a singular motive for why any one of them might wear makeup is probably a losing suggestion.
That said, those fake eyelashes are comically stupid, like a colony of aphids Plus some of them are so long, they probably arrive half an hour before the person attached to them does.
But yout’ is for experimenting, and I mostly see those … decorative applications on very young women.
Enjoy the BBQ, fishing, wine, and camaraderie!
And when you realize that the affair the two of you have been having as a CEO of a billion dollar company and the “Chief People Officer” (a.k.a. head of HR) was inadvertently outed by Coldplay on the Jumbotron at Gillette Stadium this week.
I feel badly for his wife and her husband. These two? Pfffttt. The silence is deafening from them and their company - as well as the venture capital companies who just closed on the D round of funding to this company. I’m thinking somebody’s got some 'splaining to dooooooo!
If only they’d thought to put towels over their heads.
Wow. The audacity.
Anybody who makes any single one of these substitutions will not ever be invited to eat at my house, nor will I accept an invitation to eat at theirs.
Hahaha
I almost never read this thread but for some reason I did today because I’m bored. I feel like y’all are ganging up on @DaBadger. His heart was in the right place. You’re defending makeup? Geez.

Allow me to give an example. My girlfriend and I are going on a date. She’s getting made up. I tell her there’s really no need. She says it makes her feel pretty. I say that’s great, but please don’t do it for me. No need. Oh, but now I’m telling her what NOT to do. I’m so dictatorial.
Yes, people present for many different reasons; myself included. I personally don’t feel men look better in suits; but formality says I wear one from time to time. Yup, folks present for different reasons. I just brought up one.
You’re quite right. There is no single motivation. Sorry to stereotype. Just going by my own experiences. That said, I don’t know many women who go bigtime makeup on the daily. So, I’m going by few examples. But the examples by which I’m going, I know well, beyond the makeup. Not saying those examples are shallow because of it. My apologies if I offended.
It’s so much more complicated than I could ever comprehend. Many people tend to assume maliciousness first.
Never told anyone what to do with their look in my life. Know some heavy makeup wearers pretty well, and noticed several friends of mine who makeup regularly do it before being with their female friends consistently. Doesn’t make them weak or dumb; just enjoy dress up/make up with friends. I do the exact opposite when I hang with my friends: dress down, go grubby. My makeup loving friends notice that about me. I’m hurt to no end.
Still, when I see one of those women made up and dressed up, I compliment them. They do look good. Just not as good as without IMHO.
If you think I made improper assumptions, it seems some have made the same about me. “What’s on your mind?” is the subject. Easy banter. So much for any casual chat. Adios
Another SB reject today: PINNA
But she ISN’T doing it for you. She’s doing it for her. And you’re telling her
Maybe SHE needs. It’s not always about you.
