So I dismantled my rocket stove (its just cinder blocks placed in a pattern) and hid it in the garage. The house behind me was for sale, and I didn’t want to affect their ability to sell it (with my rocket stove in the backyard). After about a month, the house sold and I met my new neighbor, yesterday. We got to talking and he really likes “outdoor cooking” and started talking about making an outdoor kitchen. I asked him if it was OK, if I put my rocket stove back up. He didn’t know what that was, so I showed him – and he asked me to build one for him.

@Lectroid Skip to 2:30 into the video, his first attempt failed, his second attempt worked. I used an angle grinder with a tile blade to make the cuts required.

Now that I know my new neighbor is OK with my rocket stove, I’ve got some scrap granite that I’ll cut and attach (mortar mix) to the outside to make it pretty & more permanent.
