Adult beverages in the offing ?

Shit yeah. I’ve had 1600 mg of ibuprofen (yes, I know what I’m doing), 400 ml of Wheatley vodka (as 4 by 100 mL over the last 4 hours), and working now on my first 750 of Fosters Lager. Three more of them to go.

Have an epsom salt bath. When I’ve overworked myself, those work like a miracle in easing muscle pain for the next day.

I haven’t combined the two, so can’t comment on the results. The baths really work well, though.

Thanks. I only recently was reminded of the fact that you can absorb Mg via skin in baths (it was mentioned to me in reddit’s fasting sub). I’m really sure that I knew this 50 years ago - but I guess I’d forgotten it. As I think back, it seems that my grandparents told me about it. But like I said, I’d forgotten it.

That stinks.

I take a magnesium supplement to sleep some nights and have never noticed any interaction with Epsom salt baths. Hmm.

Could you have rented a Bobcat Skid steer?? Or would that have been overkill for the job??

Thanks. I was just thinking that oral Mg salt tabs (as bis-gycinate) plus Mg salts (as bath salts) might over-do it. But I’ve never tried it together.

Great question, and something we discussed a lot before going with the slide boards.

The Bobcat is a lot harder to learn than a regular excavator. My son-in-law is comfortable driving a regular excavator (he’s done it before, I have not), but over 15 feet it would be scoop, drive over, dump, drive over, scoop, drive over, dump, etc. Maybe as slow or slower than us doing the board slides. {Not positive, though}

But Home Depot does rent their excavators for about $400 a day (delivered to your site). We’re thinking maybe to rent one for pulling the dirt back in. But there’s a lot of organic crap we need to pull out (logs, roots, etc) so we may just do that by hand, too,

If the roots are big ones and you need to get them all out, you’ll need the excavator if you don’t want to kill yourself. The Big J and I had to remove stands of maples on a building site. It would have been impossible for us to do by hand. If you’re going to remove the roots and logs by machine, after freeing them of surrounding dirt, get a chain to wrap around them, attach it to the excavator or skid steer and use it to drag them out. Easier than trying to pick them up with the bucket. Also, skid steers are very intuitive to use. I find them easier than excavators and they’re more efficient than an excavator for moving gravel.

Unanue is an outspoken right winger who got a lot of flack for turning full MAGA. His pet cause of ā€˜trafficked children’ is mostly crap. The Sound of Freedom movie he helped finance is not at all what typical trafficking looks like, and has been denounced by most of the other NGO’s that ACTUALLY work on the issue.

I am unsurprised Goya is trying to get rid of him. I AM surprised it’s taken this long. Maybe he and John Schnatter from Papa John’s can team up.

I just saw this on FB’s Dull Men’s Club group. She said "this PSA just came through as I scrolled…Can I tell you that it has never ONCE crossed my mind what to do in this scenario? And now that I know what to do, I will still accept fate because there is no way I’ll remember any of this. Oh, and I can’t swim so… "

:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Turns out it’s from an illustrator who draws the comic Annie now along with other things, including where this came from - The Art of Manliness. I think I’d be like the woman who posted this - not gonna remember anything about how to survive this one.
