Yay! Twinkles
Someone else turned the lights on this evening, so I came back to pretty twinkles!
I’m glad there are others in the house who like them too
In case my nephews ever question how much they are loved, I am keeping a list of every terrible movie I have woken up early in the morning to take them to see over Christmas break, so that it did not take away from family time the rest of the day.
2024/2025 edition: Sonic 3 at 9:10m tomorrow when it opens here.
In case you’re wondering, no, I have not seen Sonic 1 or Sonic 2. But I’ll get the teenage version of a recap on the way to the theater while I’m still not awake.
I am inspired.
2 goals (among many) for the new year are to walk with intention and to more deliberately and regularly include weights.
If you have an Android phone, consider trying the Fit app to reinforce your successes. Of course there are also all of the watches and rings, but Fit is “free”.
I’m reporting in to say I’m okay but for a few burns.
I have nothing but my sister’s gift of this iPhone 14 Pro Max.
A good place to be in. I’m charting a new path in life.
I lost my vintage clothes:junk business in the fire .
Kinda liberated.
I can do anything now, unburdened.
I needed this at 72.
Charting a new course.
I’m excited. Out of disaster comes hope!
I’m gonna go enjoy life.
BTW my iPhone didn’t catch fire, the charger did.
Lesson learned.
Go you!
I admire your tenacity. If we can help out in any way, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Strength in numbers n 'at.
This is my nephew. I gave him his first guitar. A Yamaha something or other.
On Christmas Eve I gave him a Takaminie and an acoustic bass I’d had setting around.
I’d already thought I wanted to give everything away.
The fire solved that problem for me though not exactly as I’d hoped. Everything is gone for for better or worse.
I’m happy!
If you’re happy, I’m happy
These are what stood out to me. The positivity and looking forward after such an occurrence is to be applauded. Chin up, fair weather, and mild winds at your back as you move forward!
Ditto what @linguafood said - if you are happy then so am I. Hope the burns aren’t hurting too much.
Can you let me know where you got your positive attitude? 'Cause I’m in the market for one.
I just had to share this wonderful Secret Santa* I got from former CH LNightshade! What an embarrassment of riches
It might be hard to make out all the different things, so here’s what she sent me:
- homemade gochujang cookies
- homemade chili chocolate cookies
- dark chocolates with chilies & amarena cherry centers
- wild rose harissa from the last wild roses in her yard
- smoky duck fat-washed bourbon
- chilies and liquor for the monkey boy

I’m blown away by her generosity, and the care she took in putting it all together.
*A beloved tradition started many years ago by former CH @Wahooty in my Fb WFD group
I had to scramble to get mine sorted out on the 31st, in case I needed to make some more donations in an emergency fashion. I was underpaid (penalty land) according to one measure, but okay by the other safe harbor provision.
I usually guestimate the last quarter of income in October, so I can square up any estimated payments that need to be made. I usually pay a little extra in – just in case. I had to pay a penalty once – never again.
As a side note, it appears you have until Jan. 15, 2025 to make a 4th quarter 2024 estimated payment if you change your mind about the possible penalty on the land.
In another instance, I made a mistake on a house sale – about 15 years ago. I submitted the wrong form for the sale – you would have thought I was a serial killer by the way the IRS came after me. After finding a competent IRS agent, who explained to me that I had used the wrong form and needed to re-submit my taxes (1040X) with the correct form – all was forgiven. For the record, the net affect was $0.00.
I’ve realized I’m now living the @ZivBnd life!
Cool.
Other than walking and swimming, I dislike exercise. I push myself to walk because it does wonders for my mental health AND lets me eat much better than if I didn’t walk (and I love to eat!)
I began walking a lot back in 2010 when I found out that my blood sugar was out of control and my eyesight was becoming poor because of it.
Thankfully it’s under control now and I have to keep it under control for as long as possible.
I wish you the best of luck in achieving your goals.
Live large, my friend! Eat dessert first!
