he’s sh$tpo$ting (he isn’t a law student and hasn’t studied law ), I think because Kim Kardashian failed the California bar exam again.
but now I’m craving ramen and a Coke.

Ah. Hadn’t heard about that (or even that she’d finished LS).
Edit - oh now I remember she tried the apprenticeship or OJT/reading route.
She didn’t even attend law school.
The CA bar exam is notoriously difficult, with about a 34% pass rate on first tries.
l had read 80 percent of people who attended an accredited law school pass on the first try. (Edit: see this year’s pass rate below )
Kim did not attend an accredited law school, nor did she complete an undergrad. Would be easier for her to pass if she had taken those 2 steps.
According to the link below, 69 percent of the ppl taking the July 2025 exam passed on their first try.
43 percent passed the exam, so a lot of people who fail are failing after taking the exam 2 times or more

I’m impressed California publishes the stats each year.
From the CA State Bar Website:
"The State Bar of California reported Friday that 54.8 percent of exam takers passed the July 2025 General Bar Examination (GBX). "
The February Bar has a much lower pass rate because it is mostly people who have failed the prior July exam and are taking it again. Last year’s February Bar was plagued with problems in the remote testing - technical issues - that resulted in the head of the CA State Bar resigning. When I took the CA Bar (almost 30 years ago) it was a three day exam - and just pen and paper so no technical issues!)
Today, I took Sunshine to another doctor for her voice (which is getting weaker and weaker). This doctor did a minor procedure in the office and determined she needs an operation on one of her vocal cords.
We haven’t received a date for this operation, yet. And have a whole bunch of new questions, but at least we know what is wrong and that they should be able to fix it.
I do hope the eventual surgery helps and she’s back to talking very soon!
Fingers crossed the surgery will do the trick, and that insurance covers the brunt of it. Might want to try to get in before next year! ![]()
Thank you…
And she still has her whistle in the interim (if she needs anything).
Yes, and no, really. Last time I looked (because someone in the news was using this as an excuse for a first time fail), there were roughly 20 each ABA accredited and California-accredited law schools, the latter not meeting ABA accreditation metrics, but are accredited by the state of California itself, plus there were handful of wholly non-accredited schools.
The majority of failed first tries are from those two groups of non-ABA accredited schools. I did (just now) look up the law school stats of the news-worthy person mentioned, and its July 2024 first time pass rate was 86%.
Yes… that is something we are looking into, as well.
It appears Sunshine will be under “General Anesthesia” for this procedure, so that adds a bit of complexity to the situation.
The other group, besides first time fails, taking February are sometimes people who spent more time studying and deferred until then.
I don’t know if you remember the big stink in the late 2000s through maybe 2012 or 2013 that saw the ABA finally forcing schools to give out actual and granular employment stats, but it was around that time that some of the lower-tier schools started offering stipends to those newgrads they saw were likely to fail, so as to encourage them to study longer, because the schools were on ABA probation for 3-year running low passage rates.
Darn, but glad to hear there’s a path forward.
I can identify and sympathize with that. I have one paralyzed vocal cord, and when I’m tired, my voice can fade to nothing; I have to sit down and relax to get it back.
My best wishes for the surgery.
Here are the July 2025 pass rates , in this link
Thank you for kind words. Yes, I think the doctor is calling it “parensis”.
We are trying to educate ourselves about it.
She looks pretty good - doesn’t look a day over 400!
