We are edging close. So far, bacon wins.
I think Ian Fleming wrote that as a short story in the 60’s - so back then it could fly. We’ve come a long way, baby
The word’s usage as a slang term for female genitalia dates to the 19th century. I have no idea whether it “flew” in the 60s, but it meant then exactly what it means now.
I’ve had frog legs in an almondine sauce and they were incredibly good and locally sourced from the Sierras. Just once, haven’t seen anything like that since.
I had to look that one up.
BITD there was a restaurant on the Truckee River just west of Reno on the old highway that had frog legs on the menu. I don’t remember how they were prepared but they were delicious. I think the owners were French. They also made a Baba au rhum that had so much rum I was afraid to light my cigarette after dinner. I also enjoyed frog legs when I was in Paris.
No, I haven’t. Just marked as Want to Read in Goodreads, thx
OK… so I tried some of this “Pink Sauce” on a serving of white rice. It was OK. It tasted like a spicy fruit mixture, not really my “cup of tea”. I imagine it could be appealing to some people… just not me.
There have been some controversies re: Pink Sauce
No botulism, yet…
I don’t think I could eat any sauce that’s pink colored.
I would have Pepto Bismol PTSD
Check out Mama Stamberg’s Cranberry Relish (npr.org) for something Pepto Bismal-ly pink.
British Shrimp Cocktail is good, with its Marie Rose sauce.
I couldn’t buy a bottle of pink sauce, but I like other sauces that are pink.
Uh, no.
I just looked it up and immediately had a gag reflex.
No bueno, at least for this blue-faced creature.
Based on that you also shouldn’t eat pigs - highly intelligent animals
I don’t eat it in Canada, but it tastes good when I’m in the UK
It’s British Shrimp Louie. I eat Crab Louie in California, but I’ve never made it in Canada.
Hostess Snowballs are sort of Pepto Pink.
Some blueberry / blue drinks look a little too much like Windex.
Fry sauce seems closer to orange than pink upon comparison but nonetheless it is usually called pink sauce.
I do want to make up a batch of these pink pickled onions. The presenter uses them on pizza and I think they would go great on my “White Pizza” creation.
That is inconsequential! My wife once bought me a medium ice cream cone instead of a small, and that was far too much for me to digest. It was weird that night revisiting what was obviously vanilla ice cream.
