What have you been watching lately? 2024 Edition

Think Titus W is perfect for the role of Bosch. I’ve listened to the last 5 or 6 books Connelly and Welliver does the audio and it’s great. The actress who plays his daughter was also on the audio book that just came out- The Meeting.

Yeah, the Jack Sparrow of baking from the article you posted. I was referring to that. Not sure about the Klaus Kinski reference…maybe someone else wrote about him.

I’ve tried to watch the Professional’s spin off from GBBO but not a fan of the judges.

I see. I was surprised to see Liam, but I did enjoy him on GBBO !

And sorry; the Klaus Kinski comment was @linguafood

Apple tv’s series, Before with Billy Crystal and Judith Light began this week. Dream mystery genre.

The Klaus Kinski reference is in response to my comment.

@shrinkrap — looking through his acting credits I don’t find any evidence for either. Hard to confuse him with someone else.

No I love Liam, but he’s not a judge is he? It’s the two judges I’m not crazy about. I wish they would do more or at least release on Netflix more of the junior baker shows where Liam is a judge. They only have two seasons and the kids (and judges) were great.

@Annegrace ; you are quite right;Liam is considered a “host”.

@linguafood turns out I was thinking of this guy ; Richard Lynch

Richard on the left, Klaus on the right

:grimacing: Umm…they don’t look alike to anyone else?

I think Tom Brady is a closer match than Richard Lynch.

… maybe. if I look at it like that his. :upside_down_face:

This link called Heavy Action: Invasion U.S.A. / Code of Silence describes him thusly;

Apr 23, 2012 — … Richard Lynch (the bastard hybrid of Rutger Hauer and Klaus Kinski), …

They both make this list of “scary guys”

World Serious! Yanks v. Dodgers. Tied 2-2 at the top of the ninth.
Fan interference just nixed a Yankee home run.

Aaaargh! I had to make a bathroom visit just after the top of the 8th and I missed it! Thank goodness for instant replay and endless repeat videos.
What a game!!!

I was born in The Bronx but have lived in the LA area most of my life. Gonna be a great series either way.

Save The Children: A Concert For The Ages. 1972 Concert film featuring Marvin Gaye, Roberta Flack, The Jackson 5, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye and Jesse Jackson. This had a very brief theatrical release 50 years ago and then pretty much disappeared until now. A really nice companion piece to Questlove’s “Summer of Soul”.

I watched Gorky Park last night. I hadn’t seen it since I was a kid. It’s on Prime, and leaving soon, at least in Canada.

Everyone but diehard Yankee fans will want to watch The Comeback on Netflix, a three-ep miniseries about the 2004 Red Sox. Some very interesting interviewees including Grady Little, Joe Torre, Pedro, Kevin Millar, Curt Schilling, Johnny Damon, Big Papi, Theo Epstein, Terry Francona, Dave Roberts, etc.
