Wilensky’s is a trip! You’re literally stepping into a time warp as nothing has changed since 1932.
This is from a 2016 trip to Montreal, can’t recall if it was the world famous fried bologna or fried salami, but it was tasty. Obligatory cherry cola to wash it down. A must visit in Montreal just for the time warp experience.
I haven’t been yet. It’s on my list for another visit to Montreal.
Wow, what a super idea! I’ve had bacon-wrapped shrimp, of course — but never thought to put them on a sammich together!
What IS it about the combo of chicken / bacon / avocado that makes it so much more than the sum of its parts?
Add this to my favorite list.
Nvm. Already on there ![]()
yep, avocado with bacon ![]()
the light freshness of white crab meat is also well complemented by bacon…
and ‘dressed’ crab - with chopped boiled egg, butter, and mayo - makes a quick, any time of day meal of a sandwich, and again either lettuce and/or avocado go great.
lobster clubs and lobster salad sandwiches with bacon are also good
New England lobster/crab/shrimp/oyster rolls ![]()
Not the Onion
I’ll never understand the PB&J thing, but that’s quite alright. I didn’t grow up with it ![]()
Love PB&J.
You and millions of other people ![]()
I don’t care for sweet “sandwiches” in general. No hagelslag, no cinnamon sugar on buttered toast, no maple syrup, etc. etc.
I did like Nutella as a kid.
I also love feta and jam sangweeches which most ppl would find bizarre. ![]()
Not a yuge fan of Nutella
I’ve had grilled feta or halloumi with honey. It’s ok since both are very salty.
No doubt these days it’s gotta be hot honey, tho ![]()

OMG I didn’t even see the last one was Fluffernutter! That’s def worse than a PB&J.
