Excellent!
I used to blast the neighborhood with Sousa marches early in the morning on July 5th to get all the hung-over partiers outta bed to help with the Independence Day block party cleanup. Worked!
WOW! How wonderful!
We Bostonions saw them at the Greek in 2012 and we stayed at a little hotel right next door. We sauntered in and sat right down front. They opened with Jane Smiley which blew our minds. Hope you had a great time @brisket44!
Nick Spitzerâs American Routes.
Great show, I forgot how great the space is on a nice night. Long sets, I think they wanted to play a bunch of their newer stuff but also knew they had to play the old stuff too.
The Seiji Ozawa/Boston Symphony/Joseph Silverstein recording of Vivaldiâs Four Seasons. I know it gets played a lot, and there are numerous interpretations. This one has always been one of my favorites. Before that it was Bach trios for cello, mandoline, and bass with Yo-Yo Ma, chris Thile, and Edgar Meyer. Next will probably be something more modern. Too much baroque can be like drinking a whole bottle of syrup.
