I don’t know how or why, but suddenly there’s lots of folks (that are at least 10-20 years younger than myself, a mid-50’s dude) rightly singing the praises of Steely Dan, which made me go back and give Aja a listen, probably for the first time in 30 years or so.

It’s more or less perfect. Not a bad track on it, and every note is placed just so.

And it contains “Peg”, a song with a Marotta drum groove so infectious it rivals Pocarro on “Rosanna” and Gadd on “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” (and Gadd has his own highlight, the solo / duet section on “Aja” w/ WAYNE SHORTER!)

The International Choral Music Festival, live from the Dennison Theater at the University of Montana, Missoula, USA on their public radio station MTPR. mtpr.org can be streamed all over the world. A wonderful choir from Taiwan just presented.
In the background, I am being serenaded by the ‘begging call’ of a young hawk.
