This seems appropriate (sorry if already posted). I like Chris Stapleton and also a lot of his stuff from his earlier band the Steeldrivers. This is “What are you listening to”:
A Steeldrivers classic, Where Rainbows Never Die:
This one’s kind of poignant because it’s a true story about his dad. He balances the issues pretty well. “Keep The Wolves Away” by Uncle Lucius. Or maybe I just like the whistling…
And this one seems more and more appropriate as we go along… Colby Acuff and “If I Were The Devil”.
Farewell John Lodge…
Glad you posted the Linda Ronstadt cover of “Silver Threads and Golden Needles”. That’s the version I remember playing a lot in my teens. Such a gorgeous voice.
Here’s another favorite of mine. She and Karen Carpenter had pure voices. No autotune needed.
We’re in awe of her repertoire’s range. We saw her only once live; on Broadway and at eye level to boot. As much as the early rock and country covers and Nelson Riddle excursions leave lasting impressions, this takes the cake:
True country royalty right there! Love this version and the funny video…lots of cameos!
DAYUM. Thanks for that ![]()
What a talented, smart, funny, gorgeous man he was. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see him live several times <3
I love that for you, but I am sooo envious! What a talent, and yes - beautiful!
These were new to me. I can only hope there’s more hidden gems out there.
