Legend!

Love this clip - coming on stage a few minutes after one of the greatest ever live performances in musical history (by Queen). This wasn’t that far behind.

And here it is. Followed by what is in my humble opinion also one of the greatest ever live performances I’ve seen (it’s getting epic after 5-6 minutes in).

With all due respect, I’ve seen hundreds of concerts and Queen was very good but nowhere near the best performance ever. It WAS the best at Live Aid but that was because they rehearsed a time specific act, whereas most of the rest of the bands just kinda got up and noodled around for 20 minutes.

As far as David (and Annie)
I love these from the Freddy tribute concert.
The rehearsal version is just so cool, David never putting his cigarette down.

I have seen less concerts as I am a bit younger…

Was reminded of these guys as this was the ending song on a recent episode of HBOs Industry, a series about bankers in London.

Big in the 90s of course, but their music is imho somehow very fitting for this day and age, both in music as in lyrics.

I keep hearing radio shows on ‘Yacht Rock’ on and on and on…
Is this big in your listening area?

Got to know him through his work for U2. ‘Unforgettable fire’ was his first collaboration with them, and it’s still in my top 10 albums of all time.

As I was young when this U2 album came out, I didn’t know him from his earlier collaborations with eg David Bowie and David Byrne.

And then at some point I learned that he had his own albums as well. For me, this is still his best album.

They really hit their stride on this 2nd collaboration.

Another Green World is perfection, BTW.

I was driving in my car to work this morning, on a very cold winter’s day and with a beautiful sky. Perfect time to listen to this album (Another Green World) again!
