@kumquat stated that Shybird is now in the old Commonwealth space, not Glass House. But that’s not correct, either. I’m never in that area, so I don’t know what is in the old Commonwealth space (a cursory Google search comes up empty). I bet you, @honkman, and I have crossed paths there, as it was a popular place for company lunches/dinners.
I agree that Glass House has nice ambience/great location but the food does not do the location justice (my data is old, by ~4-5 years).
To be clear, I didn’t say either of those things - I said that Commonwealth was behind where Shybird is now (which I’m still pretty sure is true - I pass Shybird on my bike to/from my office every time).
But either way, glad to be warned off of Glass House and for us all to have a minute to remember how nice Commonwealth was, especially at sunset on a nice spring/summer evening!
Sorry to not have a better suggestion for @Parsnipity !
My friends who decided on the Museum of Science were late to marrying, and the budget point was more theoretical – they wanted to have a great party and see all their friends, but how much is too much to spend for that?
Still, it’s always amazing to me how much some venues cost even before food. Not that they are not worth it – I went to a spectacular reception at the main New York Public Library a few years ago, and THAT was a serious sticker, but a forever memory.
You may want to check out the Trustees properties if you’re willing to venture out – many are available as venues.
