Vancouver Trip Report August 2024

This would be a safe bet, based on demographics.

Re Dynasty dim sum… we had one very good trip and another very bad one. The bad one was almost entirely down to the shrimp tasting old and dirty. Since it’s used in so many dishes, they were all yuck. Noteworthy during good visit was a pan fried dumpling with some type of mince inside that was bright green on the outside. Pandan perhaps? It was visually stunning and quite tasty. I look forward to trying more van dim sum. We tried to go to Kirin Richmond on Saturday, but despite being there early, were turned away for not making a reservation.

When we’ve wanted noodles and dumplings, we’ve visited Dinesty, a noodle chain, 4-5 times. Enjoyed almost everything. Also, the mall food courts at Crystal (Burnaby) and Aberdeen in Richmond are great.
