Trader Joe’s Product Reviews – YEA/NAY/MEH – 2025 Edition

I’ve been avoiding the new bon bon cookies like the plague, especially after @Aubergine recommended them :joy: Bad enough those Australian chocolate sandwich cookies keep finding their way into my cart

I’m not tempted by the Australian cookies, the one I find totally irresistible is the French chocolate wafer cookies (my friends agree) but they have only appeared briefly.

These Chocolate Bon Bons are a good second choice. If I can eat just 2, you probably can too.

Good point. I took a 6 month sabbatical from working in 2000, and visited friends in Seattle, Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC. My friend in Charlotte was originally from NYC, so SHE was used to snow. Turns out I brought about 6" of snow to both Richmond and Charlotte when I visited. It paralyzed the City of Charlotte for 2-3 days. Her kids had a ball with me making snow forts in the back yard and having snowball fights.

Her kids will never forget that snow experience with you! Good for you for bringing the snow with you to them!

Oh man, we used to have ice cream Bon-Bons in the house when I was a teenager. Didn’t have the cookie layer, though.

i remember when ice cream bonbons were a common movie theater concession stand snack, in the '70s and '80s

Have you had Dibs?

I grew up with these, which are still around. They were a special treat when I went to the movies with my mom, and they still are when I to the movies (in Germany) with my PIC.

I don’t think they really need the cookie layer. I like the ones I linked in response to @CaitlinM — do they look similar to the ones you’re talking about?

These were the ones that we had when I was growing up:

It looks as if the Dibs are the successor.

Meh on the whole wheat English muffins. They have a noticeable amount of sugar. I’ve really soured on sweet things!

Same concept — milk chocolate and vanilla ice cream?

YEA: Fiocchetti with pink sauce. The sauce isn’t really pink but this is delish. The pasta is cute little pockets filled with cheese.

Yes.

I tried the TJ’s bon bon cookies….way too sweet for me. Need a cup of coffee or tea to down those and still two sweet for me. The Aussie cookies are good, probably made by the TimTams people…but no other flavor options like dark mint, which are way better than Girl Scout Thin Mints.

I wish the mini cones would come back with coffee ice cream.

Funny

I don’t find them too sweet and I dislike overly sweet things.

Could be the batch I had but a friend said the same thing, same box. Usually TJ’s stuff works for me but not this time and very unlikely to try again. The short bread raspberry sandwich cookies are nice, balanced with a just enough jam.

Yup, the BonBons I remember.

Yea for the TJ’s refrigerated oat milk – I slightly prefer the original to the less caloric “no added sugar vanilla”, but both are good swaps for cow’s milk in coffee. The original oat is not too sweet and tastes rich.
