Tipping on delivery vs takeout

(post deleted by author)

As tipping threads tend to get. Really not sure why we needed a new one, TBH :woman_shrugging:t2:

Yes Natascha, I quite agree, but then basic things like an employee wage, the rights and wrongs etc. need sorting out sooner than later. Treat them like valued human beings that can go to work and earn a decent wage without having to rely on antiquated social norms and the whim of individual customers. Maybe throw in a dose of free healthcare for every member of society like lots of the more advanced countries.
I do understand your comments.

You’re preaching to the choir.

Sorry I don’t do religion

Which is great, bc neither that nor politics are appropriate topics here, according to the guidelines

Aside from that, surely you’re familiar with the turn of phrase.

Of course Natascha, I’m well aware of the guidelines. I still can’t imagine seeing the price of something on a delivery or collection menu, paying for it and then giving them more because the owners won’t pay a decent living wage and people over the years have sat back and let it happen.

I hate getting into these threads, but you realize you are punishing the victims of the system you dislike, not its architects.

Hi small_h, I don’t participate in your system. I don’t agree with it so I don’t allow myself to perpetuate such stupidity.

It’s always easy to judge from the outside.

Btw, you’re not “allowing” yourself not to participate in: you aren’t part of it.

@moderator-team since I personally never actually started this thread, would you mind closing it now? Surely, we have enough tipping threads as it is, and — perhaps not surprisingly, the discussion is veering into the political.

Thanks.

Sometimes Natascha it’s better to be on the inside.
Not sure about your second statement.
