The 'British Burrito' Replaces Tortillas With Yorkshire Pudding

Thank you!
I was feeling kind of lonely out there on my verbal precipice!
LOL!

Lol. My least favourite thing are gummy tortilla roll-up party sandwiches. They were really popular here in Canada when commercial wheat tortillas first became available.

These delicious Taiwanese beef rolls look like a relative to the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap.

Yorkshire pudding batter is essentially eggy pancake batter.

Hungarian beef palacsinta are delicious, too.

I’ll admit I like the Mission brand tortillas for tacos and quesadillas :woman_shrugging:t3:

Floffy, and lovely griddled.

Yikes- sounds pretty gross, all right

Agreed. Our west coast flour tortillas aren’t gummy and any burritos I get will be griddled, not wrapped cold.

Okay, I’m ready for one of these. Does this place do shipping?

I took a look at the pics in the OP, which I hadn’t seen before because of problems I have with my computer with too many tabs open. Now burritos are supposed to be closed at both ends, as are pasties - I can’t tell if that’s true here, but so what. Brits have some odd and cutsey names for dishes (and places), and so it goes. They can call it what they like. They can call it Bubble and Squeak v.2 if they want to.

I’m not as much of a hater of burritos as the late jcostiones on this board but I’m not big on them and this looks ----- BETTER! Roast beef, potatoes, etc., wrapped in pastry with gravy on the side??? Better sounding that refritos, a few shreds of meat and a little bit of cheese encased in a tortilla.

Local chain Taco del Mar was hot in the aughts (maybe they still are and I just don’t go). They steam tortillas to soften them for wrapping their ‘mission style’ burritos. It’s borderline food crime.

Flour tortillas can be good but often aren’t. The white chocolate of Mexican food?

You need to make your own. All of the store bought tortillas I’ve ever tried have been disgusting.
Rick Bayless has a fantastic recipe that I’ve used for years.
