The Atlantic: The Best Free Restaurant Bread in America

i have never done cream biscuits and I prefer butter. My mother in 1960s always used butter, not EDIT Crisco thank goodness, and that’s how I got my taste for butter. I almost never have heavy cream around and also always have butter in the freezer. I’ll try the melted butter version, easier on my hands.

Olive Garden for me. Might have gone once with our son when he had newly come to live with us pre adoption. I think the memory got screened out. My 94 year old mother and my husband’s sister consider Olive Garden to be the top of eating out experiences. I’ll continue to pass.

Actually, I meant tip after tax.

But does the Joël Robuchon bread come with free Animal Farm butter?

I like Chez Panisse’s free bread, I think it’s special bake from Acme. Ad Hoc serves Bouchon and I remember eating basically a loaf waiting for entrees…not free but it’s also not $450./person.

Definitely no alcohol at Cracker Barrel. That makes it popular with recovering alcoholics who prefer to avoid even the possibility of being tempted.

There is absolutely alcohol at Cracker Barrel in Florida. Didnt order any but it was on the menu a few weeks ago.

I live my life on the road for work. Cracker Barrel isnt gourmet, but the food is decent, the servers are kind, and they’re an easy stop when I’m driving.

The food is good enough that i don’t feel like I’m settling.

I’m telling too much about myself, but that might be a deal breaker with me and Cracker Barrel.
