Before we moved to the PNW, we lived in LA and on the same street as Hide, but about 2 miles south. Little Tokyo was an eating wonderland, and Hide was our local sushi spot! Now I regret never springing for the omakase, but I don’t think my sushi tastes were super developed then. The white plaza you photoed used to have a Beard Papa in it. Did you get a chance to eat anywhere else on Sawtelle? Our favorite ramen restaurant Asahi is just across the street from Hide. They had a great little cheap Chinese place too called Little Hong Kong, Hurry Curry our first intro to Japanese curry. Such good memories!
