Me too! I hate getting stuck behind slow walkers and slow drivers.
“As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you must be.”
Me too. Makes me nuts. Also people just kind of taking up room staring at the items in the aisle and blocking your way!
Nothing personal against slow walkers or slow drivers, I just wish they would have the courtesy to think of other people around them, and not block aisles, or move out of the left PASSING (not touring) lane on the highway. They can always move back into the passing lane once a faster car has passed them.
I know when I get older and slower, I would have the courtesy to think of others, and do so.
That is certainly my hope! As I get older and older I am crossing more and more fingers…while I still can!
Yesterday I was walking on a path in the park and a young man no more than eight was zipping along the path on a tiny motorized bike! I was thinking “get off my lawn”. I wonder what he was thinking.
It’s the total lack of self awareness, and certainly not limited to any particular age group.
Totally agree!
Mark’s was things priced as “.99¢” or “.25¢” or some such.
I agree. The .95, .97, .98, & .99 is annoying & I always round up ofc but it’s been how many decades of being a standard marketing tool? Heh, trip down memory lane-- 55 years ago I was 3 months into my first job was in a hardware/auto parts store. We priced everything w/a Sharpie & I would joke that you could find ANY price from .01 to $9.99.
You missed the point – liiterally. “99 cents” is okay, but “.99 cents” is 99/100ths of a cent.
Those who revel and excel in idling in front of the escalator get my goat

You best pay with a dime. Ten times 0.99 cents is 9.90 cents.
I’m dumber than I look!
Uptopic I ranted about the thin biodegradable plastic bags that are everywhere now. Yesterday, I pulled some haricots out of the veggie bin in my fridge, and found that the thin biodegradable plastic bag had biodegraded right there in the fridge, after only a week or so. There were clumps of former plastic bag stuck to the beans. I was able to rinse them off and continue.
Don’t remember if I voiced this before. At the deli counter you order what you want and how you want it sliced. Then the deli person heads to the slicer that is furthest away… She begins slicing and holds it up in the air from clear on the other side of the area and wants to know if that’s right. I have them come over with it,but, geez.
I ask for a specific # slice and when they hold it up, with a smile on my face I wave my hand in the air and say “That’s fine -I’m not picky”. You’d be surprised how many smiles you get in return.
Next time I’ll ask what number the slice is and try that
I see oodles of celery in our local grocery stores, but it has been years since I have seen celeriac, which I love. What gives? Are the grocery stores in other areas just overloaded with celeriac? Is there some place where they are making a celeriac landfill?
Frankly I don’t think many folks know what it is, or what to do with it. I see it at Wegmans and our local farmers markets. I haven’t specifically looked for it at TJ’s or Giant or Weis, but I’m pretty sure it’s around these parts. Lotsa German immigrants, tho.
