Silliness & food funnies 2025

I sometimes think that the kids that do this are messing with daddy’s rig, then again, these ‘kids’ may be owning these $70K polluters. Be careful out there. I’ve seen them blast pedestrians and cyclists and those driving sensible vehicles. No enforcible laws here to deter this behavior.

not ‘messing’ . . .

lacking an intentional (switch on/switch off..) modification to create billowing clouds of black smoke, a diesel simply does not do that.

I go for my yearly filet o’ fish during Lent. And every once in a while I need fries dipped in a chocolate shake.

I know how popular their fries are, but the last time I tried them they left a film in my mouth as if it had been coated with vaseline. Maybe the chocolate shake dip helps with that, but I’ll never know.

Yes, like Pringles. There are times when I don’t mind this.

Don’t like Pringles either

I like them until the 6th one. See also: Velveeta.

Do not badmouth Velveeta!

I’m not! Sometimes I have to have it, usually in queso or mac & cheese. But the passion is fleeting, because after about five bites I really notice the plastic-ness of it.

Applies to New England as well - if you don’t ski and live for the white stuff.

My sister is lamenting that she’s not up in Maine after their 6-7" of snow that fell on Tuesday. Except it’s going to fall to -1°F. tonight near Sunday River. And won’t get warmer than about 20° tomorrow.

Yeah, I don’t care HOW many hand and feet warmers you have in your gloves and ski boots, and that goggles and hats and everything else covers your face. That’s a no from me. But she’s cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs.

It’s not even snow, which is pretty rare in the city. Just the endless darkness. If you have a 9-5 job you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.

Cozy/depressing, depending on how you look at it. We prefer Berlin in the summers, for sure

Which is why when I pull into my garage at night, the door closes, and I encase myself in my living room’s warm lamp light with blinds closed (and heat on!)

I did the commute in the dark both ways and work in a cubicle for one winter. I still haven’t recovered, I swear. C’mon solstice!!

My spouse absolutely hated the coming & never-ending dark. I’d tease her about the “SHORTEST DAY SOON!” & then remind her constantly “GETTING LONGER NOW!” after the equinox.

Have you considered a move to a warmer climate when you retire??

Florida, Arizona, Some Parts of Southern California, Some Parts of Texas or New Mexico??

New England is warming faster than anyplace on Earth except the Arctic. 4.5F (2.5C) rise since 1900.
