Great and thorough critique, Maria! I had dinner at San Jalisco a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the flautas (I was meeting friends but wasn’t super hungry). One friend had the giant steak and it was pretty good for a cheap steak. I would happily go back, but I really prefer Gallardo’s, yes, for breakfast too. I’m happy to see that San Jalisco opens early like Gallardo’s does – so rare in SF. I love mole, so I may have to go back to San Jalisco just for that… The mole at Buen Comer is really good, but they are so effing stingy with their tortillas. I hate that!
