Upstairs? Mama Maria perhaps?

Nope. One word. See my reply to Linda.

If you ate at Salon Rouge in the spring or summer of 1983, I certainly did! (I was the cute one.)

I think we have a winner for that one. Still stumped about the other one. I could’ve sworn it started with an E, like Enoteca, but… yeah. Blank.

I’ve visited Boston twice in my life — once in '04 and once in '10, the latter of which was contained to Cambridge entirely, so my memory or understanding of nabes is rudimentary at best.

Thx all for your help!

Give us enough clues, and we’ll get it. Eventually.

Most welcome. It’s fun to reminisce.
Come visit - there’s more to Boston dining than Michelin would have you believe.

Speaking of rabbit dishes: Was anyone else a fan of the strozzapreti with rabbit at Sportello? Great dish; I tried it my first time there and I can’t recall ever ordering anything else as an entree. (Tried several of the starters on various visits.)

I’d love nothing more! A lot of our travel is conference-related, so here’s hoping for one in the future. Ideally in the spring or fall

I ate at Erbaluce once back in the day - I only remember that I was not knocked out by my dinner although it was fine. Don’t know if it was what I ordered, or if it was an off-night in the kitchen. I went with great expectations based not only on the press, but also because I had eaten at Draghi’s previous restaurant in the North End (Marcuccio’s) a couple of times where the meals were absolutely fantastic.

Tell the PIC there’s PLENTY of oddities in the Boston area he needs to explore. Hell, go to Salem, MA in October and you’ll see the entire lot of strangefolk - maybe human but then again, maybe not. I mean, what better way to be out and about in the human world than the month before Halloween in Salem, MA?.
