Next time, see if you can take the short trip, on a weekend to Guavate, along the Ruta de Lechon, one of at least two “pork highways” on the island. We had a blast; hired a taxi for a very reasonable price and the driver really added to our understanding, and fun. But easy to drive yourself, too. Sadly, my musings were on CH, so no longer available…
