Rella’s isn’t there anymore? They were there for awhile weren’t they?
Shut down like a year ago but I do believe they were there about 10 years.
Wow…I didn’t know that. I was never a fan of that place but I knew they had a good run. When I was younger (80’s /90’s) there was a good restaurant there that had a good run. Formal for the area, I think the name was Anthony’s does that sound right? I believe it was a man’s name but I could be wrong.
That location (the corner of Fisk Ave and Rte 71 in Brielle) was Anthony’s Brielle House when we first moved down here 20-something years ago. It literally was set up like a house with a warren of small dining rooms scattered about. When it closed, it was a couple of other things that didn’t last long. It was empty for a while until Rellas took over.
It’s now La Mondina. There’s a short discussion about it in the NJ Food News Thread, starting May 15 with Eli’s post on NJ Monthly’s new Jersey Shore Restaurants.
Oh…that’s the location!! Yes Anthony’s is what I remember and it was good from what I recall.
