Thanks, @KTLA!
Back to my favourite eatery in George Town for lunch today.
Oddly, but perhaps not surprisingly, it’s been ignored completely by the inaugural Michelin Guide to Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2023, so we were spared the hordes of camera-toting gastronauts. Someone must’ve steered the Michelin inspectors elsewhere - their loss.
Our lunch orders:
Mortadella ham ‘n’ salad, with balsamic dressing
Spaghetti - matcha, sashimi akaebi prawns, Hokkaido ikura, spring onion, green heart mini heirloom tomatoes, chili
Pici - guanciale, porcini, Parmigiano-Reggiano, duck’s egg-yolk, Sarawak black pepper
Risotto - Akita komachi short-grained rice, king prawns broth, green heart mini heirloom tomato, orange, squid
Crema Catalana with fresh figs
Tiramisu, with lychee, Earl Grey & Marsala wine
Flawless cooking from Chef Hong, as always, and to-die-for desserts from Chef Yen. These two are at the top of their game. Never had a bad meal there, ever.
Looks fabulous. I think you’re lucky it’s not on the Michelin radar… yet.
Love the look of that seafood stew!!!
Simply too good to ignore. Chef Loh Choon Kueng’s Jaloux has been included in the latest MICHELIN Guide to Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2025, announced today at a glittering ceremony held at the swanky Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
Finally - they should make you an inspector!!
