I’ve eaten there maybe four or five times in the past, always indicated the same aversion, and never had a problem. So maybe a new policy?

Ugh, I hope not!!! I hope that mayyybeee the current menu is just so full of your aversive ingredient that they couldn’t think of reasonable substitutions on the one? Hope that’s it! But wish they had explained better to you why they couldn’t honor your request.
