[Paris 10e] Restaurant Eels

We returned to Eels for dinner on a Wednesday night mid-April.
TL/DR: an even better meal than last year; Eels is now on our “must return” list.

We were 4 for dinner; our dining companion can chime in with his thoughts if he so chooses.

The cold chicken starter with garlic and multiple sauces was very, very good. The eel starter (unpictured, because almost identical to the pic above) was excellent as always.

The spaghetti with peas and pesto and black olives main was excellent, one of the best pastas I’ve tasted in France, and would be an above average pasta if served in Italy.

I saw the pork dish and for a second regretted not ordering it…

…until I tasted my quail main, which was top notch with the combination of flavors and textures on the plate.

We shared one dessert, the poached pear. It was fine, but not on the level of the savory courses.

Prices are fair for the quality. My wife said it was probably her favorite meal so far this year. As noted, above, we will certainly return.
