I keep a can, too, but frozen concentrate has all but disappeared from stores. At least the smaller cans certainly have! A shame.
OJ… growing up I didn’t care for it. Didn’t hate it, I’d even allow it was OK just “meh” in my opinion. Then I went off to college & the dorm cafeteria ladies were ALWAYS putting a glass of it on my tray despite my protests. I gave up arguing (took too much time) and at first just tossed down the garbage chute but I do HATE waste so started drinking it & came to really like it. Now can go for months w/o it but when me or wife remembers (& the fripping price isn’t in Egg-land) we get it.
Orange Crush…Now I WANT ONE – the soda pop that is. was my 1st “favorite” soda.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the soda with the same name.
So did I.
It was my tipple of choice until i was 12 or so.
Served in that tall heavy glass bottle, it was a serious beverage.
The Orange Crush cocktail is a great summer indulgence on a hot day.
I will be making an orange crush in the next couple of days. Why wait until summer? I’ve got all the ingredients, including oranges.
An icy orange soda was the second best drink I ever had in my life. I had just taken a dance class on a stupefyingly hot day (and the studio was not air conditioned - that was considered bad for your muscles. Fans were permitted. I was about one inch from dead. There was a soda machine in the lobby. I spied a can of orange soda. A few coins (this was a long time ago) and it was mine. It was so cold- must have been a hair’s breadth away from freezing. I popped the top and guzzled. It was a religious experience, even if it lacked a glass bottle.
First best drink - the ginger ale a nurse gave me upon my exit from the ICU after open heart surgery. Because it was cold, because it was ginger ale, and because I’d survived.
