Last day in Oslo…We squeezed in a visit to the Munch Museet, which we all enjoyed more than expected (we had gone to the Munch exhibit at Harvard a few weeks ago and it was just so-so). We were especially charmed by the kid-centric “peepholes” and the wonderful 7th floor that was a wonderful exhibit about Munch’s residence. Kids of all ages could follow around the mouse Mr. Storm and his travels. Of course, I especially loved the kitchen and bar party dioramas. And we finished our trip as we started it…more Koie Ramen, which we didn’t know has a shop next to the museum. Once SO saw that, lunch was decided. We all got repeat orders. SO and I gave our eggs to B.
I watched an entertaining Icelandic movie on our flight to Reykjavik, “ Ljósvíkingar or Odd Fish,” a movie exploring acceptance which I’m fairly certain was based on Tjöruhúsið, where we were fortunate to have eaten at in 2018. I started another documentary that I’ll finish on our Boston leg, The Day Iceland Stood Still. SO and B each got 2 pylsur at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur at departures, I got a rando vegan sandwich (which was decent and after Norway prices, Iceland now seems almost reasonable). Keflavík has definitely gotten spruced up—Iceland has to return to a cleaner, more calm place and we can see concrete changes.
Boarding now. And that’s a wrap! Some more landscape photos (I might be repeating some but it’s just all so beautiful).
