I forgot to state that we live close to the Belmont location and have purposely avoided it because, well, it’s in Belmont center. If Belmont is decent, that would be awesome.
I had avoided the Belmont Shine, too, because its fusiony appearance had seemed discouraging. But after @Amandarama’s post above I tried at Belmont a few weeks ago some of the things she’d recommended, plus others. They were very good. The rougamo were excellent, both the shredded potato and the spicy pork, with, as @nonaggie notes above, crisp, flaky pastry. Likewise the liang-pi and the biang biang noodles (they had potato in addition to the beef, something I’d not seen before). I recommend it.
