Need Restaurant Recs for Singapore and Thailand

So you’re a very short walk away from Sri Trat, and no reason not to hit that. And not too far away from the Thong Lo branches of Kua Kling Pak Sod and Baan Ice. Baan Ice is the casual chain run by Ice Supaksorn before he opened the upscale Sorn. Well worth a visit, and my wife insists on going every time we are in BKK.

Yes, Rung Rueang is not far away and the noodles are nice, but I doubt many people can tell the difference between theirs and the pork noodles from another 20 shops around town…

Both Kua Kling pak sod and that Baan Ice (other locations have slipped in quality) are great options for southern Thai, as Peter has recommended.

For Sri Trat, you will need to call but it’s straightforward to make a booking that way.

Like most small shop places designated with Michelin, they are overrun by tourist much of the time and quality has slipped quite a bit in my view. I’d recommend the the “20 shops nearby” picking one that seems well patronized.

Thank you!
