My goodness, the deliciousness. I had no idea that Nashville had such good eating to offer. I’m savoring every post in your report.
Arnold’s Country Kitchen
Before my flight home I had some time for lunch, which was at Arnold’s Country Kitchen, a meat and three in the Gulch. I was interested in Arnold’s partly because it was apparently a favorite of the late, great John Prine, a Nashville resident who was a fan of their meatloaf.

To order, you grab a tray and line up cafeteria style.
My plate. I got the meatloaf, natch. And it was indeed a very good meatloaf, tender with lots of gravy. On the side I had some cabbage which was quite nice - cooked soft with some dill, creamy smooth mashed potatoes, and some turnip greens which were also quite good.
For dessert, I had a slice of strawberry pie, which I think was filled with jello and strawberries, and topped with whipped cream. It was ok, I maybe should have tried a slice of the chess pie.
And that’s a wrap!
Just curious, was this truly 2024 or 2025? Great report, in any case!
This was last year, 2024. I took my time in writing it up
Oh wow! Good memory.
