Bean threads are an underrated noodle. I also like some of the potato starchy ones that are thicker, likes ones used in jap chae, if you want something with a bit more chew.
I don’t think I saw this mentioned here, but I’ll add another feature or really a lack of a helpful feature in this area. If you’re going to offer bar seating - either at the actual bar or at small bartop seating tables - for the love of good, at least get stools that have backs or provide hooks for people to hang a bag, or to put a jacket. The hooks can help, but isn’t practical if they are not close to the where you sit (as well as insecure for your valuables). How many people really just wander in from across the street, so they aren’t holding a wallet, a phone, or anything?
It’s absolutely not female friendly, and not even male friendly, and completely impractical in some climates where coats and jackets are needed the majority of the year. This is yet another reason why I hate barstools and high top tables, but this seems something so obvious and it’s crazy that this is still an issue at many places with bar seating.
I so agree with this! The bar I frequent is pretty good at having seats with backs so I can hang my jacket on the back but I really wish they would put hooks under the bar for me to put my purse and a bag. During the winter months I put my hat, mitts and scarf in a bag rather than stuff them down the sleeves of my parka where they are liable to fall out and get lost and I hate putting my bag on the seat beside me since I hate taking up an extra seat - especially when the bar is full and seating is prime. Also during the summer when I have my umbrella and it is wet because it was raining out on the way to the bar - where do I put it? Not on my lap because I don’t want soaking wet clothes and not on the chair beside me because I don’t want someone else to get soaking wet clothes so I am left with placing it on the bar.
