Armed with cholesterol lowering ’ CRESTOR ', will be feasting on Foie Gras dishes at Au Pied Du Cochon one of the nights. Hope the food is still rustically good?!
I’ve never been but, fwiw, my spouse was there about a year ago and was impressed. He loved Alma, too.
Don’t miss the cromesquis (deep-fried cubes of foie gras mixed with port, cream, etc.). Bet you can’t have just one! Don’t go for the gimmicky duck in a can.
Oooh, wow! ’ Duck in a Can ’ is gimmicky?! Thank you so much for the heads-up!
Anyway, there’ll be the six of us. So, for ’ Instagram ’ sake and a tribute to the late Anthony Bourdain, we’ll order just ONE can, take a look see…and taste!
However, I will be bringing back to TO their canned ’ Chicken in Morel Mushroom cream sauce ’ and ’ Cassoulet’.
The lobster roll is amazing at APDC, as are their summer salads.
Fresh fish and shellfish is delivered from the Gaspé daily.
Nice seasonal summer desserts, too.
I’ve never bothered with the duck in a can.
I once had their seafood tower. Extremely disappointing as everything was rubbery.
They once had a special “Lapin Royal” (rabbit stuffed with foie gras) for two, which was magnificent!
I haven’t tried the seafood tower.
I have to stay away from foie gras these days, unfortunately. It’s too rich for my system and I pay for it later.
Unfortunate; it’s something I really love.
We’ll be heading north to Quebec City and beyond after Montreal. So for lobster roll and fresh seafood/shellfish we’ll be eating those in Ils d’Orleans and QC instead!
The APDC one is a little different. When I have had it, it’s served on brioche, topped with foie gras and a yuzu drizzle. It’s more decadent than a standard cold lobster roll with mayo, or a hot lobster roll with butter! I would share the APDC roll, too rich to eat the whole thing by oneself.
Here are some photos from the internet.
Hope you enjoy your trip! I look forward to reading the report!
I love Ile d’Orleans. I usually stop here.
In White River Junction, consider RedCan. An oyster bar - yes, in Vermont.
It’s been a couple of years since I visited Toqué but a colleague who recently visited reports it’ is still outstanding.
I’m still enjoying the Cassis Black Current Mustard I got there.
I bought a similar one from the Cassis farm on Iles d’Orleans
It’s the same farm!
