It was the Michelin Guide 2026 KL & Penang ceremony at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur yesterday. This year’s selection features 151 establishments across the MICHELIN Star, Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Selected distinctions — including 2 newly promoted One MICHELIN Star restaurants, 58 Bib Gourmand eateries and 84 MICHELIN Selected venues.

Besides retaining Two-MICHELIN-stars as well as the Green Star for his flagship restaurant, Dewakan, Chef Darren Teoh’s new French fine dining spot, Bidou won the Opening of the Year Award - it pays homage to French haute cuisine, quoting names of great French chefs like Michel Guérard, Paul Bocuse, Roger Vergé, and even the legendary Auguste Escoffier next to menu items inspired by them. So, if you watched Julie & Julia and simply yearned for all those elegant dishes featured and want to time-travel back to a dining room of Julia Child’s era, just step into Bidou.
