Well, now I have a summer road trip to-do list!
I know people have had mixed experiences with Gibbet Hill (the doneness of the steak seems to consistently be the point of inconsistency), but I love them overall. It’s not much of a trip for me, though – they’re our go-to for my mother’s birthday and stuff like that, and we make sure to go at least once in late summer/early fall when there’s the most variety of local produce. I nearly always get the burger or a steak; the most interesting stuff tends to be in the appetizers and salads.
(I feel like it’s going to sound really snooty that I read the “Eating inside a building that has existed since before the American Revolution adds a layer of meaning to every meal that is hard to describe but very easy to feel” part and thought, oh, I did that growing up, though. Our house was built in 1743. But it does sound like a cool building for a restaurant!)
