Manhattan Trip Report - May 10-15, 2024

It’s also our house style. If you’re swift, drop by when you’re next in our hood.

we really wanted to have a slice and even a hot dog, we really did! But when you’re eating Sarge’s and Vaselka for breakfast, and museum hopping and saving yourself for dinner, it gets tough to eat a carb & cheese snack when oysters are so light and satisfying.

when i got back, I had a slice at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana

I know, it’s not the same. but it’s pretty freakin’ great pizza, and scratched the itch.

Chinese is something I’d like to try again there. One of my friends there is an absolute Chinese hound (she and her husband lived in Taiwan in their youth and regularly go back to China) and recommended a place to me & the BF when we were there in 2016, i think? We went, i loved it, the BF not so much. And my sister isn’t as adventurous and I know some of the Sichuan restaurants our friends frequent would be too much for her.

but, never say never, and for sure there will be a next time!

thank you!
Yes, Blue Hill was sobering for us too. Put a little damper on the trip, even though the first 3rd of the meal was actually stellar…

But yes, do try LB, the lunch 3-course prix fixe is relatively affordable!

yes, the price tag at Death & Co. was definitely $$$ - I actually haven’t seen the bill yet - my sister put everything on her travel card for points, and we have yet to do the reckoning. Yikes. :grimacing:

I am exhausted by reading this. Kuddos for the stamina.

Damn that was good. I could look at and eat oysters all day.

And that R&D sable.
