@wabi Just saw you live on Kauai. We went to Maui a few years ago and toying with Kauai for this summer. Any thoughts on best areas to stay on island, with our 7 year old?
If you’re coming in the summer here…the best beach conditions for a 7 year old would be on the north shore, the ocean will be the calmest there. Though any side will be nice. On the east side there is Lydgate beach park which has an enclosed area for swimming for kids that is protected from the surf by a rock enclosure. Kauai isn’t that big, so no matter where you stay, you will be close to activities and beaches.
