Just found my old Andalusia notes from 2022

I’ve placed EL FARALLO on my Denia list, notwithstanding some odd comments on TripAdvisor.
I think bookings are taken only by phone, so will take care of that in a few weeks…either phone or ask hotel to book for us…

To think that I imagined Cuenca as a small town where we would be hard pressed to find great food…Maribel you have dissuaded me of that idea! What a wealth of tempting places to eat in Cuenca!!

I just don´t pay any attention to the TA comments because if I do… I get whiplash!

I pay much more attention to Alberto Luchini, a professional food writer for 7 Caníbales.

Found something for erica1 to look through. Unfortunately can not guarantee legitimacy.

Noticed you mentioned El Pantera (the spin of off Casa Del Tigre next to Eslava).

Seems it’s been marked as temporarily closed for a little bit. Any idea of it will be reopening. We are planning on a return to Sevilla and wanted to revisit as it was our favorite on the last trip!

El Pantera, now closed, no longer belongs to the owners of Casa del Tigre; it has changed hands (changed hands when I was staying in the apts. above Eslava next door during Holy Week).
After I left, it closed. For me, it’s no longer recommended—at all. There was a different menu, different vibe, nothing to write home about, just blah.

However, I just read that there is a new gastrobar named El Pantera in the Parque Alcoa (as of this past July).

The new owners of Espacio Eslava have taken over the outdoor space in front of the former El Pantera next door to use as an extension of their own outdoor dining, so as to add more outdoor high tables, as they had run out of room.

Casa del Tigre is still highly recommended (no longer associated with the former El Pantera).

thanks for the intel! sad to hear it’s closed, but glad to hear Casa del Tigre is still recommended. planning on making a stop there.

adding taberna zuburan to our list as we will be staying nearby!
