While I have some sympathy for your explanation, there’s a more mundane one here:

caramel in davis square closed…

hadn’t been to the far end of davis square for a while, so i’m not sure when. but was sad to see that the caramel patisserie has closed. their croissants were great and the pastries were tiny works of art.
