Joe’s Shanghai XLB / soup dumplings [NYC-Chinatown]

Circling back on Joe’s — I guess 5 years is how long it’s been since I was there, yikes!

Pleasantly surprised that they have held up — still top spot in my personal crab & pork xlb charts (though now I have to go back to Kung Fu, it’s been a couple of years gap there too).

Big, plump, intensely delicious flavor, appropriately crabby. Skin a bit thicker than some others, but necessary for the level of filling and slightly chewy but stayed tender even as the dumplings cooled down.

The room is beautiful and spacious (I had not been there since they moved).
