Your math doesn’t really follow my experience with aged/higher gravity beers.

Perhaps reading would help your math. Compare Amstel Light to regular Amstel. Or any beer to its light counterpart. Not a random light beer to what is a story about the most calories “beers” available. Not even apples and oranges. Horseshoes and hand grenades.

No need for snark. My point was that people who regularly drink heavy beers like to have lighter calorie options on occasion. You’re cherry picking to say “the light version of this already light beer only saves a very few calories, so don’t bother.” My point was that not all beers are around 100 calories a serving. The beers you mention are not “heavy”. When folks are calorie counting, sometimes every one counts.

Good grief.

Your point is well taken, Christina. There is a time and a place for lighter beers/ales. Some of my favorite beers are Dogfish Head brews. My favorite carousing beer (60 Minute IPA) is 190 calories a bottle, but the session style Slightly Mighty is much less of a load to haul around at 95 calories. But the 90 Minute and 120 Minute and 290 are 330 calories respectively. I like to get the 90 in an 8 ounce glass when I can! LOL!
And I will not deny that at least once a year I have been known to put away a cold Coors Light or two!
