That’s poverty spec.
Do they even give you ice cream for that price?

Now I’m going to be getting milkshakes in my feed.
Is that a bad thing?
That $9 shake has gone to $10.
I’ve yet to go there though I plan to go around April/May before tourist season hits.
1963-- my hometown had a luncheonette/candy-store. A shake was 75 cents which would be $7.45 in today’s US dollars according to the US inflation calc.
My brother was telling me about this place in Santa Monica.
I can’t find prices on the website but something was $25.
Here are some

…and vanilla? Really?
we have a local not terribly “fancy” Italian resto - been there years.
just checked my check scans - price is essential flat for the last three years.
last outing was a tad less, but I skipped my manhatten.
anti-pasta platter, osso bucco, chickenn piccata, canoli & double expresso
2x wine, complimentary bread service - I was a but surprised that the costs had not gone up.
most of the ‘finer dining’ places have gone up , about $100 on a tab for two . . .
what was $200 is $300, one new place apparently going for exclusivity ran to $400 - altho the bread course . . . baked-after-you-sat-down popovers, , , were superb.
but not likely to visit again at their prices.
The third item on the page is an interesting interview about pricing:
I’ll see your $11.45 and raise you
But for $14 you do get two flavors; thick or extras like malt are extras. And it’s in a cute throwback shop http://franklinfountain.com/menu/#fizzes-and-phosphates
Ooh! Winner.
Under 10 for a shake at Rori’s is one of the best QPRs on the menu.
A single scoop is 8. A shake is usually at least two scoops, plus the milk, cookie and labor. If you didn’t need the consistency of ice cream, the shake is the way to go at Rori’s.
I always opt for a waffle cone with a snickerdoodle cookie on the side. Cuz, you only live once, and you gotta live large.
Looking up QPR…
Queens Park Ranger ?
I am pretty sure it isn’t the one I found.
" Quarter Pound of Rubbish (UK) "
A once quite good football team. No longer. Probably heading for the third tier at the end of this season.
Huh? WTF? etc., etc.
So it’s gonna be what? Sad Hour? Cry Hour? Grief Hour?
Aren’t Early Bird dinner specials a type of surge pricing in reverse?
Yep, so are “Happy” Hours.
If people can no longer rely on prices on a website menu for a restaurant when planning a dinner out, a lot of them may well choose another restaurant.
Skip the price increases and go for JitB tacos that are still TWO FOR 99 CENTS! Given most fast food has almost doubled in price over the last 3-4 years I am not sure how they manage to keep that pricing.
Don’t get me wrong… they are lousy tacos, but I have always loved them. Haven’t had any in a while so I don’t know if they’ve somehow gone way downhill, but IMHO that would be hard to do. (c;
can you imagine going to a restaurant at lunch / dinner time and being told they have a surcharge because it’s their “busy time?”
