Hudson Valley Restaurant Week - Fall 2017 - October 30-November 12

I would always made a reservation at Sonora during restaurant week because they always did such a great job, and I really loved their vegetarian paella which was always on the menu. I checked their website and their RR menu is posted, it’s just not posted on the HVRW website. It appears that the ingredients they use to make the vegetarian paella has changed drastically and their cabernet sorbet is not listed but the menu still looks fine. For anyone on the fence about giving RR a shot, if this menu appeals to you I would highly recommend giving them a shot. https://www.sonorarestaurant.net/restaurant-week-menu

I’ve never understood why many restaurants don’t send their menus to the Valley Table, nor do I understand why VT doesn’t make more of an effort to get restaurants to do it.

I just found Kittle House’s menu on their site. Moderne Barn has theirs posted too for anyone who’s interested. I’ve eaten there a couple of times recently at group events and the food was pretty good.

The food is good at Moderne Barn if you are paying RW prices. Otherwise, they are ridiculously expensive and the service is awful. I will say for a group dinner they do a great job.

Roundhouse menu is posted here. I’m not real impressed.

I didn’t pay either time I was there for the group dinner, which is probably why I enjoyed it. My wife had the meatballs and said they were excellent and they are on the HVRW menu.

BTW I noticed something odd about Farm to Table Bistro’s menu. Included in their cutesy wording on the menu (which I hate, BTW) is this comment about the salmon: “This featured long time favorite was thoroughly enjoyed by The New York Times critic” (using the NYT logo, no less), which I guess is a clever way to let you know that they were reviewed by The Times. So I looked up the menu (they got a very good), and the only mention of salmon is this: “There are occasional missteps, like a pan-seared salmon that arrived underdone without any caramelization”. Why would put wording like that in the menu???

Wow, someone sure blew that one!!!

Found HVRW menus for 121 Restaurant on their website and they look interesting.

They’re actually doing different menus each week. I might try to get there for lunch. Note the week 2 lunch menu currently points to the dinner menu.

Typo!!! It’s nice that they change the menu.

They seem to have fixed it, the lunch menu no longer has the flatbread appetizer.

Thanks for posting the menus, MisterBill!

Madison Kitchen in Larchmont just has their normal menu posted on the HVRW site, so I contacted them via FB to see what’s going on. They are offering their regular menu and you get to choose any 3 small plates and an order of bona bona ice cream! Some of the small plates are $15, so it could be a good deal if you order them. Not as good a deal if you order the $8 stuff.

Note this is Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday only. They will have a different “Pasta Mondays” menu.

Ha … cute
Hopefully it won’t turn out to be a “Rocky Horror Picture Show”

I made a reservation at The Cookery and 121 for the 2nd week Dinner menu. I can’t wait!

So Westchester Magazine has an article suggesting a bunch of places for HVRW . One of them is Juniper, as Asian place in Hastings, and they say they’re offering their entire menu. Yet that isn’t advertised ANYWHERE on the HVRW or restaurant’s websites. How do they expect to get people to show up? I was actually excited about going there for poke and duck breast, but reviews on Yelp don’t seem to be that great.

Good choices. We’re also doing 121 the 2nd week, but for lunch since I have free time these days :). And I just made a reservation for The Cookery for the first Sunday.

We were pretty underwhelmed by Juniper. We went last spring, shortly after they reopened in their new space, and our meal was very uneven. The menu was poorly organized and not that interesting. We would be willing to give it another shot but not until some major changes are made to the menu.

RE: The Cookery, the pig head donut is on the RR menu
That and the meatball and you should be good!
