I’m really sorry to hear about that. Even when you’re spared damage, it’s so crushing to hear and see people in your community who were not as lucky.
It’s surreal to see FEMA comfort stations (showers, wifi, charging stations, hot meals) set up at the park down the street and American Red Cross trucks cruising the area.
Happily 98% of the region has power, the gas stations are back online, and things are beginning to return to what will pass for normal…and we’ve gotten a cool front so it’s sunny and beautiful, which is helpful mentally.
I hope it stays so…makes recovery in the early days a bit easier. Sending you hugs.

Yes, it has been a really nice change! Unfortunately, for some people, there is still concern about lead in the water due to corrosion.
