I don’t think Americans enjoy being scolded whether we’re talking diet or gas guzzling pickups or any number of trigger issues.

Somewhere on YouTube is a clip of Ted Nugent yelling about growing up independent of government aid: “We were on FOOD STAMPS. Nobody gave us a handout!” I can’t even. I’ve completely forgotten how to even.

Well, to be fair, they presumably actually had to go to the store and cash in those food stamps all by themselves.

So technically, not a handout.
