guess it makes sense up to a point - the “soup” is concentrating so dilute it. diluting my ma la was a good thing - the boiled meats were too bland and lean to offset the spice
I think only @small_h was refilled with water, ours might have been broth, the jugs were different. Or maybe that was at the beginning.
Still, I wouldn’t have wanted more curry as a refill - it would have become too concentrated in our pots over time.
