Thank you!
It was Dovetail Brewery in Ravenswood. They do mostly German style beers.
But now seeing the pictures, I notice that the pretzels are impaled and stacked on a pole rather than hanging
Thanks. Your earlier pic still had the pretzel upright, which is close enough. Whether hanging or impaled to make upright, the effect is still an upright pretzel in front of you.
What beers did you like at Dovetail?
Went to Laughing Monk in Sunnyvale in November. They did have a hanging pretzel.
I think the pretzel and cheese were good.
Was deciding between Das Bierhauz, or Gourmet Haus Staudt, for today. Havenât been to either.
Since Gourmet Haus Staudt has the pretzel, Iâll go there.
Whatâs some of the food you liked?
RE: McKayâs Taphouse & Beer Garden.
I went there a few times last May. First time I liked the pretzel and cheese. 2nd time, didnât think the cheese was as good. If I go back, Iâll probably wait a bit, and not prioritize it.
What taproom in Chicago?
They have both German and non German beers.
Nice to see it almost full, on a weekday. I donât hold it against a place if itâs not packed, because sometimes thereâs places that people donât know about.
But, since this place has been around for a while, the fact that thereâs still a lot of people, hopefully means it will stay around for a while.
I got a smoked sausage. I had asked for cheddar, because one of the specials had smoked sausages with cheddar, but I didnât want two, so I ordered a single. But they forgot about the cheddar.
Oh well. The sausage was good, and had a nice spice to it.
The pretzel was great, and the salt allocation was evenly distributed. I really liked how evenly distributed the salt was.
The mustard tasted like it had wasabi or something in it. I liked it.
Sauerkraut was good.
Potato salad was ok. I donât have to get this next time.
Garlic fries were too soggy. I wouldnât get again. I like crisp fries.
One of the German beers I got was the dunkel, which was decent.
They have a lot of unadvertised size options for beers, such as 11 oz and 6 oz. Which is nice, for flexibility.
